The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) over the weekend launched a massive advocacy campaign aimed at raising public awareness on one of the environmental challenges hounding the country—climate change. The climate change advocacy campaign aims to dispel public apathy towards climate change through strategic communication and social mobilization. According to recent survey conducted by HSBC, the Philippines is ranked third among the four countries in the world most vulnerable to climate change. With this being said, we must take an action with this issue because this may lead to serious disasters like resource scarcity, flood, food scarcity, water insecurity and sea level rise which can threaten our safety and lives. We must do something not just for our country but also for the future of our planet earth.

Each of us has the ability to take action or to do something about this issue. The onset of climate change has come about following over 200 years’ worth of unchecked manmade activity that had a negative impact on the world around us – from deforestation and the burning of fossil fuels to driving cars or throwing away perfectly useable materials.

While we can’t undo the damage caused to the environment, we can help decelerate the rate of change – and long-term, change the fate of the planet altogether. The antidote to our environmental problem is a change in attitude. We must think of our actions first. We must contemplate if it is beneficial to our mother earth
We must stop human activities that can harm our earth because if we continue our planet’s future will be in vain.

Climate change have already caused terrifying levels of damage to the environment and people. In order to be able to recover from the current environmental situations that humans face, the community must unite and work as one. Let us all save the planet earth!!!!
